Brazil expands rare‑earth projects with promising leach results and new exploration permits

Brazilian Critical Minerals reported strong magnesium‑sulphate leach results from its 2025 drilling campaign at the Ema ionic‑clay rare‑earth project in the Apuí region. Average recoveries were 48% total rare‑earth oxide (TREO) and 62% magnetic rare‑earth oxide (MREO), with several intervals exceeding 1,000 ppm TREO. Managing Director Andrew Reid said the results “continue to strengthen our confidence in Ema as a globally significant ionic‑clay rare‑earth project” and highlighted the potential for low‑cost in‑situ recovery to supply western markets.

Magnum Mining and Exploration secured 14 new exploration permits around its confirmed ionic‑adsorption‑clay (IAC) rare‑earth discovery at Piracanjuba in Goiás, expanding its landholding to 429.49 km². The company is advancing a systematic 10,000 m auger drilling campaign aimed at delivering a JORC‑compliant resource by November. Managing Director Antonio Vitor Junior described the permits as “an important strategic step in consolidating Magnum’s land position” and noted high‑grade assay results, including up to 3,971 ppm total rare‑earth oxides.
