Brazil expands rural electricity in Mato Grosso and MS

The Mato Grosso state government and Energisa have launched the MT Trifásico program, allocating R$1.4 billion to build about 5,000 km of three‑phase power lines between 2026 and 2030. The project aims to lower production costs for family farmers, reduce installation expenses from roughly R$18 000 to R$5 000, and enable small agro‑industries to add value to crops such as coffee.

In the neighboring state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Audi Brasil, the non‑profit Litro de Luz and the Audi Environmental Foundation installed 176 solar‑powered lanterns and streetlights in eight riverside communities around Corumbá. The initiative provides electricity to roughly 150 families, improving safety and daily living conditions. Over the five editions of the partnership, more than 2,400 residents have benefited and the project has invested over R$1 million in equipment, logistics and volunteer support.
