Brazil expands support for mothers of atypical children with new inclusion and entrepreneurship initiatives

The Executive Office for Integration and Social Innovation (Ceiis) held the second Meeting of Atypical Mothers in Brazil's Federal District on June 25. The gathering, led by Ceiis chief consultant Adriana Pinheiro, brought together mothers, specialists and officials from the Distrito Federal government to discuss challenges such as health‑service access, social inclusion, child development and emotional support. Subsecretaries Fernanda Falcomer (Mental Health) and Dayanne Timóteo (Thematic Actions) listened to participants' demands, emphasizing the need for permanent listening spaces to shape more humane public policies.

In the state of Pará, the Legislative Assembly approved a statewide program to stimulate entrepreneurship among mothers of atypical children. Proposed by Deputy Fábio Freitas and passed unanimously, the initiative aims to provide economic autonomy and flexible income opportunities for these families, reinforcing social inclusion through targeted business support.
