Brazil boosts sustainability with solar pact, AI water cuts, mangrove homes

Grupo PróVida and Avant Energia have signed a partnership to supply renewable solar electricity to 17 consumer units in Brazil. The agreement, based on a subscription model, is projected to avoid the emission of about 1,645 tonnes of CO₂ over the next ten years, equivalent to planting roughly 10,000 native trees.

T&D Sustentável, together with Otimiza.pro, offers the SEA 360° AI‑driven water‑management platform. According to the company, the solution has already saved more than 1.7 billion litres of water, returned R$58 million to customers and reduced CO₂ emissions by 3.4 kilotonnes. It is operating in 47 cities across nine Brazilian states and is used by firms such as Carrefour, Unimed, Cogna, Novotel, Ibis, Rede D’Or, Grupo Boticário, Baker Hughes and Halliburton.

Tecverde has completed construction of 60 wood‑frame houses in the mangrove area of the Dique da Vila Gilda in Santos. Built in eight months with lightweight foundations, the project lowers the carbon footprint of the settlement and has been recognised with the 7th InovaInfra 2026 award. The homes form part of a new planned community that will include public, commercial and leisure facilities.
