Brazil faces automotive part shortages across luxury and Chinese brands

The Brazilian automotive aftermarket is facing significant challenges in sourcing replacement parts, affecting a wide range of vehicles from luxury models to rapidly expanding Chinese brands. According to data from Autoglass, the difficulty in finding components stems from three primary areas: low-circulation European luxury models, the rapid expansion of Chinese manufacturers whose local supply chains are still consolidating, and older vehicles whose parts are no longer in production.

Luxury vehicles such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati often face long delays because parts must be imported through single authorized dealerships. High-end models like the Porsche Cayenne S Coupé and 911 GT3 can see wait times between 60 and 90 days. Meanwhile, the rise of Chinese vehicles presents a different challenge as the national replacement supply chain works to catch up with increasing market share.

Broader industry analysis from Sincopeças Brasil indicates that the R$ 184 billion sector is struggling with an aging national fleet, unpredictable consumption, and a heavy reliance on international markets, particularly China. Operational bottlenecks include exchange rate fluctuations, international tensions, and port delays. While routine maintenance items like filters and batteries move quickly, complex components such as electrical harnesses, sensors, and airbags suffer from low availability and high technical complexity.
