The Brazilian national wheelchair basketball teams are struggling at the World Championship in Ottawa, Canada, failing to secure a victory in their recent outings.
The men's team debuted with a significant 77-32 loss against Italy at Carleton University. Brazil struggled with shooting efficiency, converting only 29% of their attempts compared to Italy's 55%, and was outmatched in rebounding. Cristiano Clemente, known as Juninho, led the Brazilian effort with eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
The women's team suffered a narrow 70-63 defeat to Spain at the TD Place. Despite leading during parts of the third and fourth quarters, Brazil was unable to withstand Spanish pressure, particularly in free throws.
