Brazil federal highway concessions reach R$ 525 billion

The federal highway concession portfolio regulated by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has reached a total value of R$ 525 billion. This figure includes R$ 306 billion in planned investments and R$ 219 billion allocated for operations, road maintenance, and user services across 36 contracts covering 18,100 kilometers of highways.

Recent projects include the optimization of the Régis Bittencourt (BR-116) between São Paulo and Paraná, which was awarded to EPR. This contract involves approximately R$ 7.2 billion in investments for infrastructure recovery, capacity expansion, and safety measures over 383 kilometers.

Upcoming competitive processes include the transfer of control of Via Brasil BR-163 on November 12. This project, involving 1,009 kilometers between Mato Grosso and Pará, anticipates R$ 10.42 billion in investments and R$ 4.72 billion in operational costs. The corridor is vital for connecting Central-West production areas to Northern Arc port terminals.
