Brazil Federal Highway Police conduct enforcement operations in Acre and Paraná
The Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) conducted several enforcement operations in the states of Acre and Paraná, targeting environmental crimes and road safety violations.
In Acre, authorities intercepted a truck in Cruzeiro do Sul transporting 11.35 cubic meters of unprocessed wood without valid environmental documentation. The driver stated the material was intended for use as fuel in a ceramic kiln. The cargo and those involved were referred to IBAMA for administrative measures.
In Paraná, the ‘Operação Serra Segura’ inspected 296 cargo vehicles across ten locations. More than half of the inspected trucks—160 vehicles—were found to have irregularities, resulting in 391 infraction notices. The most common issues included malfunctioning safety equipment, weight excess, and violations of mandatory rest periods for drivers.
