Brazil Federal Highway Police seize stolen vehicles on major highways

On Sunday, Brazil's Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF) conducted separate operations on two federal highways, recovering stolen vehicles and detaining suspects. On the BR-153 near Guaraí, Tocantins, officers recovered a motorcycle reported stolen in 1997 and seized a car whose chassis matched a vehicle reported stolen in Caruaru, Pernambuco. Both drivers were arrested for vehicle identifier adulteration and receptação.

Later the same day on the Rodovia Presidente Dutra near Itatiaia, the PRF stopped a VW T‑Cross that carried falsified plates. The vehicle, valued at over R$ 143,000, was identified as a cloned SUV with a theft record in Rio de Janeiro. The driver and passenger, a couple from São Paulo, were detained for operating a stolen‑clone vehicle.
