Brazil Federal Police seize helicopter in illegal gold trade operation

The Brazilian Federal Police conducted an operation on Friday, October 23, to combat the illegal commercialization of gold in southeastern Pará. The action involved the execution of five search and seizure warrants across the municipalities of Ourilândia do Norte and Tucumã.

In Ourilândia do Norte, authorities seized a helicopter located in a rural area, which is suspected of being used for the clandestine transport of ore. In Tucumã, searches were carried out at four locations linked to a single suspect, including two gas stations, a residence, and a farm. The investigation aims to uncover the origins of the gold and clarify the involvement of those linked to the suspected criminal scheme.
