Brazil firms emphasize talent retention and engineering training

Steel producer Gerdau announced the "Engenheiros do Amanhã" initiative to expand the pipeline of metallurgical and materials engineers. The program funds pre‑university scholarships for employees and families, partners with Ânima Educação to launch a technology degree in steel‑industry processes, and reserves thirty fully‑paid places for its workforce.

A separate Wellhub report on HR trends for 2026 found that 88 % of Brazilian companies place talent retention at the top of their priorities. Leaders say well‑being programs help keep high‑performing staff, improve engagement and sustain performance, signalling a shift from pure recruitment to long‑term employee care.
