Brazil focuses on inclusive education and learning recovery strategies

Educational experts and institutions in Brazil are addressing critical challenges in school inclusion and learning recovery. In Mato Grosso, the Public Ministry hosted the “Abraçando as Diferenças: Escola para Todos” training session to discuss strengthening inclusive education through collective efforts between schools, families, and protection networks.

During the event, specialists emphasized that true inclusion requires more than just school enrollment; it necessitates fostering a sense of belonging and implementing Specialized Educational Services (AEE) to overcome learning barriers. The goal is to ensure students can access the curriculum with equity.

Simultaneously, Cenpec has released a technical note regarding the “recomposition of learning,” a strategy popularized following the COVID-19 pandemic. This approach aims to identify and consolidate fundamental skills that students missed during their expected curriculum timeline. Unlike traditional remedial classes, learning recomposition involves structural actions such as curriculum adaptation and new methodologies to fill knowledge gaps without requiring students to repeat entire school years. This initiative aligns with the National Pact for Learning Recomposition, supported by the Ministry of Education, which involves 4,700 school networks to assist vulnerable populations, including students from rural areas, indigenous communities, and those with disabilities.
