Brazil football officials inspect Kolkata facilities for India friendly
A delegation from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) arrived in Kolkata to inspect facilities ahead of a friendly match between Brazil and the Indian senior football team scheduled for October 3.
During an inspection of the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) and its practice grounds, Brazilian officials expressed concerns regarding the density of the grass on both the main pitch and the training area. Organizers have indicated that the pitch condition could be improved following the conclusion of the Durand Cup on August 23.
The delegation, led by General Supervisor Sérgio Dimas de Oliveira, also reviewed security arrangements, hospitality services, and dressing rooms. The officials requested additional dedicated space for coaching staff, physiotherapists, and kit managers. Additionally, the team assessed two five-star hotels near the stadium to finalize accommodation for the traveling party, which is expected to include approximately 96 members.
