Brazil football team to play historic first senior men’s match in India
Brazil’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti has emphasized that the upcoming friendly match against India will be treated with high seriousness, stating, “for us, there is never a friendly game.” The match, scheduled for October 3 in Kolkata, marks the first time Brazil’s senior men’s team will play on Indian soil.
Brazil, currently ranked fifth in the FIFA rankings, will field a 26-man squad featuring prominent players such as Vinicius Junior, Endrick, and Raphinha. Ancelotti noted that the fixture serves as a preparatory game and an opportunity for the team to experience a new football culture and different playing styles.
For India, ranked 138th, the match represents their highest-ranked opponent since the introduction of FIFA rankings in 1992. Ancelotti expressed excitement about the global fanbase of the Brazilian team and the opportunity to play for supporters both in Brazil and India.
