Brazil funds major upgrades to cancer radiotherapy and rehabilitation centers

The Ministry of Health approved a R$ 7.18 million investment for the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Marília (HCFamema) to modernize its radiotherapy service. The project will introduce stereotactic radiotherapy, real‑time imaging and new linear accelerator capabilities, aiming to improve precision, reduce treatment sessions and expand capacity for complex cases across 62 municipalities.

Hospital de Amor announced the construction of a new Center for Rehabilitation (CER IV) in Uberlândia, slated to cost R$ 52 million and be the most advanced rehabilitation facility in Brazil. President Henrique Prata said, "Não existe igual no Brasil. É o projeto mais audacioso que vai existir no HA, em reabilitação." The centre will offer robotic and virtual‑reality assisted therapy, hydrotherapy and multidisciplinary care for cancer survivors and other patients with disabilities, supported by federal deputies and SUS funding.
