Brazil gold project expands reserves via highway rerouting

In Brazil, the Borborema Project in Rio Grande do Norte is set to expand its exploitable gold reserves following an agreement to reroute a section of the BR-226 federal highway. Cascar Brasil Mineração Ltda., a subsidiary of Aura Minerals, will fund and implement the relocation of the road to allow access to mineral-rich areas currently divided by the highway.

This adjustment is expected to increase the project's exploitable reserves to approximately 670,000 ounces (20.8 tonnes), an 82% increase over previous estimates. The total potential reserves for the Borborema Project have risen to approximately 1.48 million ounces (nearly 46 tonnes) of gold, based on data from 1,370 drill holes and over 74,000 sample segments.
