João Pessoa awards contracts to 100 micro‑entrepreneurs under ‘Eu Posso’ program

The municipal government of João Pessoa delivered more than 100 micro‑credit contracts on 30 June as part of the ‘Eu Posso’ program. The initiative, run by the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labour, provides credit of up to R$ 8 000 for individuals and up to R$ 15 000 for legal entities, targeting small businesses across about 40 neighbourhoods.

The first tranche includes 54 firms (53.5 % of beneficiaries) and 47 individual entrepreneurs, with a gender balance of 51 men and 50 women. Contracts were signed at the Faculty of “As Três Marias” and are intended to boost income, generate jobs and strengthen the local economy.
