Brazil holds consultation on sustainable products for Mercosur-EU deal
The Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), through the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), is conducting a public consultation to compile a list of Mercosur products that support the conservation, recovery, and sustainable management of forests and vulnerable ecosystems.
Contributions are being sought from the productive sector, academia, and civil society to identify Brazilian sociobiodiversity products and production chains that align with the objectives of the Mercosur-European Union Free Trade Agreement. Products included on this list may receive preferential or additional access to the European Union market, along with other trade promotion incentives.
Interested parties can submit their contributions via the Brasil Participativo platform until September 2, 2026.
