Brazil Holds Easter Festival in Balneário Camboriú and Corpus Christi Theatre Shows in Rio

The municipal government of Balneário Camboriú organized the second Festival Cultura Cristã from April 3‑5, offering free Easter-themed music, theater, a craft fair and family activities across several city squares. Key events included a penitential walk, a Passion play, and performances by local worship bands and theater groups, with the program concluding on Easter Sunday.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Corpus Christi holiday on June 4 featured a varied theatrical schedule at the historic Teatro Riachuelo Rio and the TotalEnergies Adolpho Bloch Hall. Highlights were the musical “Espelho Mágico,” celebrating 60 years of TV Globo, and the final week of the play “O Deus da Carnificina,” a Brazilian staging of Yasmina Reza’s work. Both venues attracted diverse audiences seeking cultural entertainment during the long weekend.
