Brazil holds transparency and digital city forums in Minas Gerais and São Paulo

A public‑sector Transparency Forum, supported by the Associação Brasileira das Escolas do Legislativo e de Contas (ABEL), begins on Tuesday, 7 July 2026 in the plenary of Monte Sião’s city council, Minas Gerais. The two‑day event gathers public agents, parliamentarians, prosecutors, internal controllers, ombudsmen and public communicators to discuss transparency, social participation, control, public communication and institutional strengthening. Sessions include a municipal public communication talk for the 2026 general elections, a Parliament of the Seven Cities, and a public ombudsman lecture by TCE/SP’s Ana Amélia Saad.

On 23 July 2026, Limeira, São Paulo, hosts the Forum of Digital and Smart Cities, organised by Rede Cidade Digital with the Limeira municipality. The forum aims to promote modernisation of municipal services, presenting innovations in health, education, finance and security. Mayors from the region, including Limeira’s mayor Murilo Félix, will be honoured as “Innovative Mayors 2026”. As the director of Rede Cidade Digital said, “The Innovative Mayor is one who understands that digital transformation is not just a trend but an essential tool for efficient management and improving lives.” Murilo Félix added, “Receiving the Forum for the first time is a unique opportunity for Limeira and the region; we have consistently invested in technology because it is the most efficient path to solve urban challenges.”
