Brazil home decor industry sees significant growth
The Brazilian home and decoration products industry has experienced significant growth over the last decade. According to a study by the ABCASA Association of Brazilian Home and Celebration Products, in partnership with IEMI, the national industry's value is projected to grow from R$ 37.7 billion in 2016 to R$ 72.2 billion by 2025, representing a 91.7% increase.
During this period, consumer spending on home products rose by 27%, and exports increased by 45.4%, reaching US$ 853 million. The sector's workforce also grew, with direct employees reaching 484,700. ABCASA president Eduardo Cincinato noted that the sector has successfully reinvented itself despite varying economic scenarios.
Complementing these market shifts, interior design trends for 2024 emphasize a blend of comfort and functionality. Key styles include Minimalism, focusing on clean spaces and neutral colors; Boho Chic, which utilizes vibrant colors and natural textures; Industrial, characterized by metal and exposed brick; and Scandinavian, which prioritizes light and simplicity.
