Brazil hosts climate debates regarding projected Super El Niño

Institutions in Brazil are hosting discussions regarding the potential emergence of a "Super El Niño" projected between the second half of 2026 and early 2027.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Museu do Amanhã is organizing a panel titled "Understanding El Niño and its impacts on society." The event features researchers such as Paulo Artaxo to discuss climate projections and the disproportionate effects of the phenomenon on vulnerable populations. Additionally, the museum is launching a "Climate Justice" training cycle for community leaders.

In Paraíba, the 5th Paraibano Panel on Climate Change and Super El Niño took place in Sousa. The regional event brought together municipal representatives and researchers to discuss sustainability and adaptation strategies to mitigate the consequences of climate change in the Sertão region.
