Brazil hosts energy efficiency and sustainable mobility competitions
Brazil is hosting significant educational initiatives focused on energy efficiency and sustainable mobility. The 5th National Energy Efficiency Olympiad, organized by the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica, has opened registrations for middle and high school students. The competition aims to promote the rational and sustainable use of electricity through interactive pedagogical activities and digital games. Organizers expect to mobilize approximately 660,000 participants nationwide.
Simultaneously, the Shell Eco-marathon is celebrating ten years of operations in Brazil. The competition, held at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro, features over 500 students from 47 teams representing Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. Participants design and pilot ultra-efficient vehicles, including prototypes and urban concepts, powered by internal combustion, electric batteries, or hydrogen. The event serves as a platform for applied engineering and innovation in Latin American mobility.
