Brazil hosts feijoada festivals in Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná

The municipality of Lagoa Bonita do Sul in Rio Grande do Sul organized a traditional family‑farmers market feijoada on Friday, July 31. The event, priced at R$ 40 per adult, was held in the annex of the city hall and featured a full plate of rice, collard greens, farofa, orange and cake, with the preparation overseen by local organizers Noelia and Nelson. Jocelaine da Cruz, president of the Fair’s vendors group, highlighted the growing participation of producers and the planned “Vale‑Feira” programme to boost local sales.

In Curitiba, Paraná, the “Feijoada do Panda” concert took place on Saturday, August 1, at the Igloo Super Hall. The show combined an open‑bar and open‑food feijoada buffet with performances by singer Panda, DJ Pedro Volt and the CDB group. Tickets offered different access levels, and the event was promoted by MJ Entretenimento with local production partners. Panda, a popular sertanejo‑romantic artist, performed hits from his “Panda Sem Moderação” repertoire while attendees enjoyed the traditional Brazilian stew.

Both events illustrate the continued popularity of feijoada as a communal culinary and cultural experience in Brazil’s regions.
