Brazil hosts free cultural workshops and social formation program launches in Rio and Espírito Santo
The non‑profit Ação da Cidadania organized a free clown‑techniques workshop titled "O Tempo Cômico – Técnicas de Palhaço" on July 31 in Rio de Janeiro’s Gamboa district. Actor, director and clown Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos led the session as part of the FormAção project, which receives master sponsorship from Shell Brasil and support from the Federal Ministry of Culture under the Rouanet Law. The initiative aims to provide free training to vulnerable youth in the performing‑arts sector.
On August 6, the Sesc of Espírito Santo launched its Núcleo de Formação Social at the Centro Cultural Sesc Glória in Vitória. The opening featured a lecture by writer Bárbara Carine and professor Gustavo Forde on the role of social projects in citizen formation, emphasizing non‑formal education, anti‑racism and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The program will offer free courses, workshops and dialogues to strengthen the regional social ecosystem.
