Brazil hosts major agri‑tech events in Castro and Minas Gerais showcasing dairy and sugarcane innovations
The 26th Agroleite exhibition opened in Castro, Brazil, with Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior and other officials attending. Organisers highlighted new investments, technology expansion and professional training for the dairy sector. The event, marking the 75th anniversary of the Castrolanda cooperative, promoted the Agroleite Technological Park as a future international hub for dairy research and innovation.
At the same time, Koppert displayed its biological solutions at the 18th Megacana Tech Show in Campo Florido, Minas Gerais. The company presented Terranem, a nematode‑based product for controlling the cane weevil, and Octane, a bio‑insecticide for root bugs, emphasizing reduced chemical use and increased sustainability in sugarcane production. Koppert cited successful substitution of 70% of chemicals with biological agents on more than 300,000 hectares in São Paulo.
