Brazil hosts major gospel festivals in Rio and Belo Horizonte
The second edition of the Viradão Gospel took place in Rio de Janeiro over the weekend of July 31–August 1, offering 24 hours of free shows and cultural activities across multiple neighborhoods, including Rocinha, Madureira, Barra da Tijuca and Copacabana. Organized by the Instituto Grupo Unido por um Mundo Melhor (IGRUPUMM) with support from the Rio city tourism board, the event featured artists such as Samuel Eleotério, Família Cavalcanti, Thalles Roberto and others. The first edition attracted over 100 000 attendees in 2025.
On August 22, the fourth Ore Comigo Music Festival was held at Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte. The festival introduced a 360° stage to bring audiences closer to performers and included gospel stars Fernandinho, Isadora Pompeo, Jefferson & Suellen, Samuel Eleotério and Julliany Souza. The 2025 edition drew about 50 000 people and collected 30 tonnes of food donations. Organized by pastor Fábio Lacerda, the event is billed as the largest gospel gathering in Latin America.
