Brazil hosts major LGBT Pride parades in São Paulo’s Cidade Tiradentes and Betim

On July 12, the 10th LGBT Pride Parade took place in Cidade Tiradentes, São Paulo. The event, themed “While there is hatred, there is struggle: against LGBTphobia and femicide, for the lives of cis and trans women,” featured rapper MC Luanna, drag queen Tchaka, singer Gael and several influencers. Organized to promote visibility, inclusion and human‑rights defense, it expected thousands of participants along Avenida dos Metalúrgicos.

On July 26, Betim in Minas Gerais will hold its 22nd Pride Parade. The theme “22 years of struggle, pride that builds the future” frames a day that begins at the Poliesportivo Divino Ferreira Braga parking lot, marches to Praça do Encontro and returns, with performances by band Lex Luthor and an open stage for volunteers. Organizers project about 3,000 attendees from Betim and surrounding municipalities, and the city’s public‑policy office highlighted the parade’s role in promoting equality and combating discrimination.
