Brazil hosts public‑security seminars in Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul

On 15 June, Feira de Santana in Bahia held a public‑security seminar organized by the Câmara da Mulher Empresária with participation from the state police, civil police, fire brigade, Federal Highway Police, municipal guard and the Public Ministry. The event focused on citizenship, violence prevention, human‑rights issues and strengthening institutions through dialogue between authorities and civil society.

The same day, a panel titled “Segurança Pública RS 2026” convened in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, at the SindBancários auditorium. Sponsored by the Instituto Fidedigna, the Fundação Lauro Campos and the Marielle Franco institute, the discussion brought together researchers, legislators and security professionals to propose policies on organized crime, femicide, mental‑health support for agents, technological innovation and police oversight, aiming to shape the state’s security agenda for upcoming elections.
