Brazil hosts two major literary festivals in August 2026

The Festival da Palavra in Curitiba runs from 5 to 9 August 2026. The event is free and will be broadcast live by CBN’s radio program Fim de Expediente, with presenters Dan Stulbach, José Godoy and Luiz Gustavo Medina interviewing authors at the Teatro do Paiol.

The Festival Literário de Votuporanga (FLIV) holds its 16th edition from 8 to 16 August 2026 in the Parque da Cultura. The free festival, themed “Criadores de Futuros”, features concerts by Frejat and Falamansa, a Turma da Mônica children’s show, and honors authors Janaina Tokitaka and Gabriel Chalita, with patron Luiz Deoclecio Massaro Galina recognized for his cultural work.
