Brazil hosts urban planning events focusing on long‑term city development

Architect and urban planner Francisco Cunha will deliver a lecture titled “Paulista Centenária: Planejamento Urbano de Longo Prazo, uma Necessidade Urgente” on July 30 at the Uninassau Paulista auditorium, discussing the need for strategic, long‑term planning to address mobility, housing, infrastructure, heritage preservation, sustainability and quality of life as the municipality approaches its centenary.

On August 5, the CASACOR São Paulo event will hold its first Architecture and Urbanism Forum in Parque da Água Branca. The three‑panel program will examine mobility and urban infrastructure, centre‑city revitalisation and housing retrofits, and the social role of urbanism in inclusion, safety, education and community development. Participants include municipal and state officials such as Elisabete França, Guilherme Afif Domingos and Natália Resende, as well as industry leaders.

Both events aim to foster dialogue between architects, designers, public authorities and the private sector on shaping Brazil’s cities for the future.
