Brazil hosts youth judo training and major amateur football congress

The Federação de Judô do Estado do Rio de Janeiro organized a training session for under‑13 and under‑15 athletes on 13 June at the Army Physical Education School. The event attracted 161 young judokas and 34 coaches from 21 clubs, with a programme that combined playful warm‑ups, technical drills and competitive randori. A follow‑up kata training is scheduled for 21 June.

In the northern state of Pará, the municipality of Castanhal hosted the Paraense Amateur Football Congress on 20‑21 June. More than 1,000 participants—club officials, referees, coaches and public managers—took part in seminars on youth categories, women’s football, refereeing, sports management and funding. Over 100 local leagues received kits of trophies, medals and official balls, and the event was opened by Ana Clara, the interim president of the State Sports League, marking the first time a woman has led the organisation.
