Brazil implements new child welfare and education protection protocols

Public policy initiatives regarding child welfare and education are being strengthened in Brazil through regional technical advancements and collaborative efforts.

In Juara, Mato Grosso, the Public Ministry of the State of Mato Grosso (MPMT) has coordinated with local protection networks to standardize service flows. This restructuring aims to prevent school dropout and rights violations by improving communication between the Judiciary, Social Assistance, and health services. Key strategies include strengthening the Infrequent Student Communication Form (Ficai) and expanding active searches to identify students at risk of abandonment.

In Valinhos, members of the Early Childhood Committee visited the ‘Primeiras Infâncias Brasileiras’ exhibition in São Paulo. The initiative, organized by the Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal Foundation and Intercultura, uses interactive resources to explore child development, social inequalities, and cultural diversity for children aged zero to six. The visit aimed to expand the technical repertoire of municipal secretaries in social development and education.
