Brazil influencer Virginia Fonseca and betting platform Blaze face civil suit

The Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT) filed a civil public action against influencer Virginia Fonseca and the betting platform Blaze, seeking at least R$120 million in collective moral damages. The suit alleges the influencers promoted the site using a revenue‑share model that rewarded them based on users' losses, creating a conflict of interest. The complaint cites more than 42,000 consumer complaints about blocked accounts, retained funds and withdrawal difficulties, and notes a promotion posted during the 2026 World Cup without clear advertising disclosure.

Separately, a man in Campinas has sued Virginia Fonseca, Deolane Bezerra and Carlinhos Maia, claiming the influencers' betting promotions caused him to lose over R$100 thousand and develop gambling‑related health issues. The plaintiff seeks compensation for material and moral damages and demands documents about the platform’s algorithms, contracts and user‑control measures. Both actions are pending judicial review.
