Brazil infrastructure: Rio Ubá bridge nears completion as Rio das Antas repairs are studied

Infrastructure projects and repairs are underway in different regions of Brazil. In Paraná, the construction of a new bridge over the Rio Ubá on the BR-153 highway has reached 80% completion. Managed by EPR Litoral Pioneiro, the 130-meter-long structure will feature four lanes to improve safety and traffic flow between Jacarezinho and Santo Antônio da Platina.

In Rio Grande do Sul, authorities are seeking alternatives following damage to the bridge over the Rio das Antas, which connects Bento Gonçalves and Cotiporã. After recent flooding compromised the structure, the Bento Gonçalves City Hall is studying the implementation of a temporary ferry service and requesting emergency vehicle access through roads near the 14 de Julho hydroelectric plant. Discussions with the energy company Ceran are ongoing to address the connectivity issues for local communities.
