Bahia government hosts initiative to combat violence against women
The Government of Bahia, through the Civil Police, held an edition of the ‘Papo de Homem’ project in Salvador to discuss the prevention of domestic and family violence. Coordinated by the Department of Protection of Women, Citizenship, and Vulnerable People (DPMCV) in partnership with the Civil Police Academy (Acadepol), the initiative focuses on engaging men in discussions regarding masculinity patterns, responsibility in relationships, and compliance with protective measures.
The event included representatives from various security forces, including the Military Police, Fire Department, and Municipal Civil Guards, as well as the Public Ministry and the Public Defender's Office. Security agents from all 417 municipalities in Bahia participated online. Discussions also addressed the influence of movements such as ‘red pill’ and the strategic role of security professionals in influencing social behaviors to prevent gender-based crimes.
