Brazil insurance sector focuses on brokerage growth and strategic partnerships

The Brazilian insurance sector is seeing strategic shifts focused on brokerage growth and strengthened corporate partnerships. Strategist Genival Silva, speaking at an event hosted by the Escola de Negócios e Seguros (ENS) and Sincor-SP, identified three primary drivers for brokerage development: acquiring new clients, retaining existing portfolios, and expanding protection offerings to current customers.

Silva emphasized that brokers should adopt a consultative approach by understanding a client’s full financial profile, including income, assets, and dependents, rather than focusing solely on individual policies. He noted that the potential within an existing client base can equal or exceed the size of the broker's current business.

Simultaneously, Prudential do Brasil has launched the ‘Prudential Momentos’ initiative, a series of meetings in Belo Horizonte, Goiânia, Curitiba, and São Paulo. The program aims to strengthen relationships with brokers and introduce new portfolio innovations, such as Group Life insurance improvements for small and medium enterprises and business succession products. The company is also focusing on technological integrations to simplify processes and enhance the broker experience.
