Eduardo Bolsonaro's Texas mansion and Dark Horse film financing probed by Brazil police

Former Brazilian deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro is living in a luxury mansion in Southlake, Texas, valued at about R$ 6 million and reportedly rented for roughly R$ 30 000 a month. He claims financial difficulty despite the high‑cost residence. The Brazilian Federal Police are investigating whether funds sent from Brazilian banker Daniel Vorcaro were used to finance the biographical film “Dark Horse,” which portrays former President Jair Bolsonaro.

Documents obtained by media show Eduardo discussed sending the maximum possible amount of money to the United States to support the film, mentioning a Texas‑based fund linked to Vorcaro. The film’s production involves other figures such as Mário Frias and Karina da Gama, who offered payments for the rights to Jair Bolsonaro’s life story, with contracts outlining bonuses of up to US $ 250 000 depending on box‑office performance. Parallel inquiries have examined whether parliamentary amendments were misused to fund the project; deputy Mário Frias denied any such transfers.

Eduardo Bolsonaro has denied managing or owning the project, stating he contributed only US $ 50 000. The investigations also note that his assets in Brazil have been blocked by the courts, and he claims to survive on “passive income” and a R$ 2 million transfer from his father. Federal Police continue to probe the flow of money between Brazil and the United States and the potential misuse of public resources for the film.
