Brazil investigation underway after boy burned by friend

An 11-year-old boy remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Santa Casa de Campo Grande after being burned by a friend. The victim suffered burns to 85% of his body and faces potential renal complications and the need for multiple skin grafts.

The incident is being investigated as an attempted homicide. According to reports, the victim claimed the 12-year-old perpetrator intentionally threw alcohol on him following a dispute. Conversely, the apprehended teenager maintains the fire started accidentally during a game. The perpetrator is currently awaiting a judicial decision regarding whether he will remain in a juvenile detention center or await legal proceedings at liberty.
