Mato Grosso launches agricultural support program for family farmers
The Mato Grosso government has received 105 proposals from family farming associations and cooperatives through the MT Productive-Development and Sustainability Project. Coordinated by the State Secretariat for Family Agriculture (Seaf-MT), the initiative aims to improve production and increase rural income.
The project expects to directly benefit 4,580 families. Funding is provided via non-reimbursable resources, with amounts reaching up to R$ 3.04 million for highly structured organizations and up to R$ 1.1 million for those in development stages. Over the course of the project, up to R$ 195.6 million is expected to be allocated to productive organizations in the state.
The call for proposals also seeks to increase the participation of women, youth, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, and traditional communities, requiring at least 15% of business plans to be dedicated to indigenous and quilombola organizations.
