Brazil Labor Courts Must Report Electoral Harassment to Prosecutors

On 28 July, Brazil's Superior Council of Labor Justice (CSJT) approved resolution 452/2026, updating the 2023 rule. The resolution requires judges handling labor lawsuits that contain indications of electoral harassment to automatically inform the Ministry of Labor (MPT) and the Electoral Prosecutor's Office (MPE). The notification is sent off‑record with the initial petition and supporting documents, regardless of any request from the parties.

The new rule expands the definition of electoral harassment, mandates proper tagging of such cases in the electronic judicial system (PJe), introduces automated data transmission to CSJT and regional oversight bodies, and establishes monthly administrative monitoring and guidance activities by regional labor courts to improve case registration and statistical reporting.
