Brazil labor market faces debate over CLT model and worker qualification

Discussions regarding the future of the Brazilian labor market are highlighting a tension between traditional employment models and the need for professional development. While some political figures suggest the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) model is outdated, research from Serasa Experian indicates a strong preference for the regime among job seekers. Specifically, 92.6% of Generation Z workers and 86.8% of millennials express a preference for CLT-style employment.

Parallel to the debate over employment models, there are calls for a National Professional Requalification Program. Labor consultants suggest that increasing worker qualification through existing networks like Sistema S could improve productivity and job stability. Proposed reforms to strengthen the workforce include ending the 6x1 work scale, reducing the work week to 40 hours, and implementing centralized qualification programs managed by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
