Brazil launches free health seminars on mental‑wellness and diabetes care

The Secretaria de Assistência Social e Cidadania (SAS) announced free registration for its second multidisciplinary meeting on mental health and quality of life for public servants. The event, part of the “Cuidando de Quem Cuida” programme, will take place on 12 June from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Integrated Health Institute of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. Experts in psychology and music will lead sessions that use music to regulate emotions, lower stress and support cognitive development among health‑sector workers.

The Escola de Saúde Pública do Ceará (ESP/CE), linked to the state health secretariat, opened registrations for its second Seminar on Management of Care for People Living with Diabetes. The seminar is scheduled for 16 June, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., at the ESP/CE headquarters in Fortaleza and is open to doctors, nurses, primary‑care managers and other health professionals. The opening plenary, titled “Current Panorama of Diabetes Mellitus in Brazil and Ceará,” will be led by Danielle Castro Lima of the Ministry of Health. According to ESP/CE’s professional‑education manager Luciana Rocha, the goal is to “strengthen prevention, early diagnosis and proper follow‑up of the disease within the SUS.”
