Brazil launches free wellness programs for seniors

Various municipal and community initiatives in Brazil are offering free health and wellness activities specifically for senior citizens.

In Itapoã, the ‘Projeto Viver 60+’ has launched a program aimed at promoting autonomy, social integration, and physical and emotional health for residents aged 60 and older. The initiative, which provides a space for social interaction and healthy habits, is scheduled to run until October 16, 2026.

In Vila Velha, a municipal program is providing 280 free spots for physical activities across five neighborhoods. The offerings include 200 spots for water aerobics in Praia da Costa and Ponta da Fruta, 50 spots for functional circuits in Nossa Senhora da Penha, Soteco, and Cristóvão Colombo, and 30 spots for yoga in Praia da Costa. Participants are required to provide a medical certificate and identification to enroll.
