Brazil launches major education job exams in Salvador and Maranhão

The municipality of Salvador, Bahia, published a new public contest offering 190 positions for municipal teachers and pedagogical coordinators. Applicants can choose between 20‑hour and 40‑hour schedules, with initial salaries ranging from R$3,078 to R$6,157, and the application period runs from July 9 to August 7. The written exam is scheduled for September 27.

Maranhão’s Secretariat of Education announced a separate contest with about 2,300 teaching vacancies. Salaries reach up to R$9,297 for 40‑hour roles, while 20‑hour positions start around R$3,987. The recruitment covers multiple teaching levels and specialist posts, and the governing body for the exam will be announced in the coming weeks.
