Brazil launches new Chevrolet Onix variants and discounted Caoa Chery Tiggo hybrids
Chevrolet unveiled the 2027 Chevrolet Onix family in Brazil, adding four configurations: the Activ hatch, the ethanol‑only ECO version that cuts CO₂ emissions by about 70%, the limited‑edition Pro (3,750 units) and the fleet‑focused Log. The updated models feature AI‑optimized aerodynamics, a 115 hp engine delivering 17.7 km/l gasoline, faster cabin cooling and new safety and infotainment equipment.
Caoa Chery introduced two plug‑in hybrid SUVs for the 2027 lineup – the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV – with discounts of up to R$40 000. The hybrids combine a 1.5 L turbo engine with a new electric motor for a total of 279 hp and a larger 18.4 kWh battery, extending electric range to 68 km (Tiggo 7) and 70 km (Tiggo 8). Production remains in China while the company plans to shift assembly to its Anápolis plant.
