Brazil launches new consumer finance programs to aid debt repayment and digitise savings

The Brazilian government’s Novo Desenrola Brasil initiative allows workers with formal employment to use part of their FGTS (Guarantee Fund) balance to negotiate and potentially settle outstanding bank debts, offering discounts of up to 90 % on credit‑card, overdraft and personal‑loan balances.

At the same time, Jequiti introduced a fully digital version of the Baú da Felicidade carnê, enabling customers to purchase the long‑running savings‑and‑lottery product online. The digital carnê maintains daily live draws on SBT, monthly prize draws worth over R$ 300 000 and automatic coupon generation for each paid installment.

Both measures aim to broaden access to financial services and provide new avenues for Brazilians to manage debt or save through modern, internet‑based channels.
