Brazil leads Latin American AI market amid rising security concerns

Artificial intelligence adoption in Latin America is driving significant investment, with the region expected to move approximately US$10 billion by the end of this year. Brazil accounts for US$4.2 billion, or 41.7% of the regional market, according to IDC data.

Despite rapid integration for efficiency gains, corporate governance and security measures are lagging. Currently, fewer than one-third of Brazilian organizations use specific technologies to mitigate AI-related risks. This gap in oversight is becoming more complex with the rise of 'Agentic AI'—autonomous agents capable of executing continuous tasks and interacting with multiple systems. These digital entities require deeper monitoring of their network behavior and permissions to prevent security deviations that may blend in with legitimate processes.
