Brazil legislative roles and deputy salaries outlined ahead of 2026 elections

As Brazil approaches the 2026 general elections, details regarding the roles and compensation of legislative officials have come to light. Senators hold specific powers distinct from the Chamber of Deputies, including the authority to judge crimes committed by members of the Executive Branch and the Armed Forces, as well as approving external financial operations for states.
