Brazil luxury market pivots to experience, wellness and high‑end real estate

At the Expo Empreendedor conference in São Paulo, Mônica Salgado, Elaine Grega and Rafael Furtado discussed a new definition of luxury, emphasizing experiences, authenticity, purpose and personal wellbeing over traditional status symbols. Salgado argued that the greatest asset of the new economy is the ability to live authentically and meaningfully, while Grega highlighted health, balance and purpose as core to true luxury.

Economist Fabio Tadeu Araújo, CEO of Brain Inteligência Estratégica, outlined how Brazil’s high‑end real‑estate market reflects the same shift. He noted regional variations in buyer preferences but stressed a common demand for "wellness" amenities such as gyms, tennis courts and art‑filled spaces. Araújo identified São Paulo, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Goiânia and Belém as the most promising cities for luxury developments, citing factors like economic concentration, land scarcity and rising buyer expectations.
